When it comes to working out, most of us are masters at making excuses. Do you have a long list of reasons to avoid working out?
Here are 4 popular excuses and tips to bust them:
Excuse #1: “I don’t have time.”
If you have time to watch TV, you have time to workout. Try scheduling it in your planner, setting your alarm clock 1/2 hour early, or getting in a quick workout or walk during your lunch hour.
Excuse #2: “I’m too tired.”
Exercise boosts your energy so don’t skip it! Fool your tired brain by telling yourself you’ll only workout for 10 minutes. Before you know it, you’ll have a 30 minute workout done and feel great. Also be sure to get enough sleep and drink plenty of water to avoid major causes of fatigue.
Excuse #3: “I’m bored with my current routine.”
It’s time to shake it up! Choose a new workout program, ask a friend to go with you, join an exercise class, sign up for a team sport, or buy a new fitness DVD.

Excuse #4: “I don’t like the gym atmosphere, I prefer to workout alone.”
Some people don’t go to the gym due to a fear of working out in front of other people or simply find it awkward. Totally understandable! This is where at home fitness programs can be an effective alternative.
