The month of April is almost behind us and as May approaches many start to focus on outdoor activities, I know that I do anyway… The warmer weather around here has been great and we’ve been trying to stay active outside whenever possible. I’ve also been adding some running to my schedule to prepare for the Tough Mudder race coming up in early June. I’ll admit, I’m not a fan of running. But I get out there and get it done, because I know that I’ll need it for that event.
On the topic of Beachbody Classic training, things are going great there as well! I’ve got just under 8 weeks until that event in mid June and as each week passes I am getting more excited about it. Perhaps a little nervous too…

5 Reasons Why You Need To Exercise
1. To Boost Your Confidence
Some people don’t appreciate this one because that can’t see past their current perception of themselves. While everyone has a different picture of health, very few of us could argue with the fact that when you feel better about yourself and you are comfortable in your own skin, life gets a heck of a lot easier.
2. To Have More Energy
This may seem weird or counter-intuitive, but busting your ass for 30-50 minutes every days can actually boost your energy levels! How many of you have ever gone into a workout and not really feeling up for it, but after you got started and proceeded to crush the entire workout felt like a million bucks? I know that I have. Exercise = MORE ENERGY!
3. To Lose Weight and Keep it Off
Duh…right? This is one of the main reasons that so many of us even start working out, we have a health and fitness goals that is usually weight related. What I see so many times though is that people want the shortcut or the easy way out. They spend untold amounts of money on gadgets or pills thinking that it will solve their problems. When in reality, those things have never proven to do anything more than lighten your wallet. Beachbody programs on the other hand, have a proven track record or getting people results with fitness programs that focus on fitness and nutrition! Boring? Perhaps, but effective without question.
4. To Enjoy Life More
Living as a healthy and fitness conscious person is just easier! I don’t mean it is easy to make the commitments to improve your own health and fitness, but when you do make that commitment amazing things can happen. You don’t get winded going up a flight of stairs, you can play with your children for longer periods of time, participate in sports. Whatever it is that you love in life, you can enjoy it more with a fit and healthy body!

I usually catch a cold maybe once per year and it is likely handed down from the kiddos in the house. But I rarely am required to visit the doctor and certainly not at risk for some of things that plague other people in my age group, such as flu, diabetes, arthritis, low testosterone, sleep apnea, etc. I attribute this to my commitment to staying active with fitness and my focus on nutrition daily.

You have until 11:59 PM EST on Friday, 4/30/2014 night to submit your entry for the month of February. Submit your results/story and win cash prizes in either the daily or monthly contest!
