Goal setting is an important concept that, unfortunately, not too many of us take the time to do. I am sure that there are some of you who have goals, but have you ever put your goal through a process that will actually help you to achieve it?
Not too long ago, I posted an article where I showed you how to Set SMART Goals and now I am going to actually teach you how to use that same concept and help you out even more; I’m here to help you achieve a goal!
Where to Start?
You probably have a goal and it’s likely a health and fitness related goal right? But you may be asking yourself; “How do I accomplish this?” It may be a bit overwhelming if you’ve set yourself a big goal or you just simply aren’t sure where you should start.
The biggest thing to remember when you are setting goals is to break that goal into smaller chunks or milestones that will gradually set you up to reach it!
Let’s say you have a goal to lose 50 lb. or run a 1/2 marathon. No one should expect that either of these goals are just going to happen overnight, you have to gradually work towards them.
Start with smaller, less daunting steps along the way to allow yourself to move a little close to your bigger goal. In the above examples, start by just losing that first 5 lb. or running the 1st mile. Those are can be stepping stones to your next milestone; 10 lb. or 2 miles!
You don’t want to feel defeated before you have even gotten started, so start small with the end goal in mind.

This specific documents is a little more health and fitness goals focused, but you can substitute just about any goal you have and use this exact same process to achieve it!
