It wasn’t that long ago that I found myself on fence when it came to the decision of buying Shakeology and if the cost was worth the product.
I wasn’t the only one, not even close…! Several of the people I have recommended Shakeology to have indicated, it just simply wasn’t in their budget. After all, $130 for a month’s supply does seem like an awful lot for a single supplement, right?
Perhaps not?
Let us do a little elementary math and see how $120 a month might compare to some other choice that you are likely to make throughout any given month.
First let’s start with the total cost. $130 for a 30 day supply. When you consider the daily cost, it roughly comes out to be about $4* per day! If you don’t think that you might already be spending $4 per day on a given meal, I have taken the liberty to provide you with a few examples that will illustrate the opposite might be true.
What a lot of people don’t realize is that Shakeology isn’t an ADDED cost; it’s really the cost you are likely already paying for each time you buy groceries. Shakeology is intended to be a meal replacement, but not only that, since it is going to provide you with a more nutritious alternative, it is actually going to be a more HEALTHY meal than you are likely already eating. Combine that with how it will reduce your cravings between meals, it will also cut down on your snacking, which is where A LOT of people get themselves in trouble. Things like cookies, candy and other sweets that provide no nutritional value are going to be no longer desirable.
Real World Examples
Here are some real world examples of meals (typically breakfast or lunch) that you might replace with Shakeology. To be fair, I have included both “junk meals” and “clean meals” for your comparison. This should give you a good idea of the real COSTS that are involved and how they relate to your current budget.
The prices and costs detailed here were accurate at the time the article was written and may have changed or be different in your area.
Home Made Egg Sandwich Breakfast
TOTAL: $4.41
Oatmeal Fruit and Egg Breakfast
TOTAL = $3.97
McDonald’s Breakfast
TOTAL: $4.41
Subway Lunch
OR
TOTAL= $6.25- $6.50
Chili’s Guiltless Grill Lunch
AVERAGE TOTAL: $7.89
Do-It-Yourself Sandwich/Lunch
TOTAL = $4.10
Shakeology
TOTAL = $3.25 – $4.50 per serving/meal
Summary
If the above illustrates anything, it is that Shakeology is clearly NOT as expensive as most people make it out to be. It will likely end up SAVING you money when compared to any other meal you stack it up against AND it is going to provide you with more nutritional value any of the meals detailed above. That 30 day supply of Shakeology is NOT an expense you didn’t already have, it is simply one that you are replacing and with something that is far superior.

*$4 serving is Shakeology’s cost without Team Beachbody or Coach discounts.
Where Are you buying your eggs? They don’t cost .50 per egg. At Walmart for a full dozen is about $3.25 I would love to buy shakeology but beachbody needs to come down on the price point. Lots of coaches tries to use the cup of coffee theory but I don’t drink coffee or eat out so I can’t relate to that. I know from the coach to the CEO has to make a profit off that 1 sell of shakeology but it’s just Waay to high. Nice article by the way though.
